The Art Rudolph Sun and Shade Garden honors Mr. Art Rudolph, who was a much beloved and respected sales representative for Monrovia Nurseries. The balance of the name originated through the shade cast by the Oak and Hickory trees along the western portion of the garden while the eastern side is predominantly bathed in sun. This garden is highlighted by the Lillian Koelsch Gazebo. Ms. Koelsch was the Garden Club of NJ (GCNJ) President from 1981-1983 and provided the funds to erect this gazebo in 2007. The patio beneath the gazebo is a favorite spot for guests to enjoy a quiet conversation with the sound of bubbling water flowing from the neighboring water
