Rutgers Gardens has a long-standing dedication to education—an aspiration that we constantly strive to expand. While many faculty members utilize our grounds as an outdoor classroom, we provide many other educational opportunities for Rutgers students, children of all ages, and the community at large. Our adult education classes offer both introductory and advanced subjects, providing ideas and techniques on topics such as home gardening, propagation, landscape design, growing plants, and even decorating with them. Our youth programs offer opportunities for preschool through high-school age students to explore nature and learn about things such as plant life cycles, natural habitats, the environment, and growing vegetables. We also offer numerous educational opportunities for Rutgers students through a variety of summer internships, which feature accompanying course credits and diverse field trips. Whether your visit is to explore our interesting collection of plants or to attend one of our many educational programs, we truly offer something for everyone.
