: Selling flowers of all types succulents, coleus, begonias and more is one of the best jobs at the plant sale. Help people find the plants they are looking for, answer their questions or find someone who can, and promote these decorative plants that last for only one season.

: Cashiers are responsible to prepare sales slip and receive monies due in the form of cash, check or credit card. Cashiers may also be asked to prepare a sales slip to customers who are already in line.

: The gift shop serves as the place where shoppers can purchase Rutgers Gardens apparel and light snacks. It also serves as an information center about all of our events, programs, and membership. On Mother's Day we will be promoting special plant sales in the shop as well as in the main sales area.

: Spend a day surrounded by herbs and herb enthusiasts. If you are new to herbs, this is a great chance to learn about them. You will be provided with a catalog describing all of the plants we sell so that you can help customers choose appropriate herbs for their gardens and answer all of their questions.

: Shoppers can leave their plants here as they continue shopping and after they pay. This area also serves as the pick-up point for those customers who need to load their plants into cars. Your job includes moving plant material to assigned area, handing out a holding ticket, tallying their order so they can pay (no math involved) and helping move plants when they are ready to leave.

: The Vegetable committee will help shoppers choose from the different varieties of vegetables that are available. No experience is necessary as a comprehensive list of all of the vegetables will be available to examine prior to the sale date and to use during the sale. This is a great opportunity for experienced vegetable growers to share what they know and it is good for those who want to learn.

: The Hospitality Committee is responsible for signing in volunteers, giving out t-shirts and organizing and staffing the Cabin; as well as distributing drinks, snacks and lunch for all of the volunteers. Occasionally the committee will provide floaters to other committees. We are there from opening to closing; shifts are available for everyone on the committee.

: Relay your love of and enthusiasm for Rutgers Gardens by greeting and welcoming visitors, distributing Garden flyers, providing parking and event directions, and encouraging support and membership to the Gardens.
